See the height adjustable edit desk in action

We launched our brand new desk product at BVE London at the beginning of the month, and now you can see it in action!

Watch our video to see how the new height adjustable edit desk can be altered at the touch of a button. There is also the facility to pre-set memory positions as well as height control via bluetooth.

The anti-collision mechanism ensures that fingers or items do not become trapped. Cable management using caterpillar tracks ensures that all cabling from the cable baskets below the worktop are taken up to the desk surface carefully. This is particularly important to ensure that cables do not become stressed or entangled, and this method safely addresses the issue.

With a choice of two sizes available, our demonstration model is the 1800mm wide version, with 2400mm also available, ask our sales team for a quotation.

MW Video develop new height adjustable edit desk

MW Video Systems are delighted to announce the launch of their brand new product, the height adjustable edit desk.  After listening to, then acting upon feedback from customers, MW Video have created the new desk, to join the standard range of edit desks.  With the aim being to help create healthy working practices for media studio users, the electrically-operated desk can be raised to allow standing at the workstation, then at a touch of a button, lowered for the seated position.

The new product line comes as MW Video were recently awarded the contract to supply 3 height adjustable edit desks for the audio department of a gaming company.

The 3 edit desks will each be situated within their own studio with specialised AV equipment. Surround sound speakers and mixers, as well as supplied Novus monitors arms are provided to house 2 display screens per desk.  To maintain tidy cable management whenever new equipment is added,  4 cable entries have been spaced evenly across the desks surface and a cable basket is located between the front and rear courtesy panels.

As with all standard edit desks,  power supplies with 6 or 8 output mains distribution unit in either 13amp or IEC are installed within the cable basket.  In additon, a trunking strip is located on the side of one of the actuated legs, to allow the cable to be brought down to the floor and then safety added to the electrical mains without being seen.

The height adjustment factor was a necessary requirement for the client, as employees would be spending approximately 7-8 hours per day at each workstation. Allowing sit-stand routines to be controlled individually by the user, and with no restrictions on the number of height adjustments, a healthy working environment is achieved, and all at the touch of a button.

Black powder-coated with a black Poivre Roc coloured laminate finish, the edit desks look sleek and beautiful, making any studio environment look like a world class working environment.

See a demonstration of the new height adjustable edit desk at the MW Video stand M30 at B.V.E London from 28th February until 2nd March, and download the MW Video edit desk leaflet for more information.

We are looking forward to introducing our brand new height adjustable edit desk to you. We’re Exhibiting at BVE London 2017

Slightly later in the month than in previous years, MW Video Systems can confirm that we’re exhibiting at B.V.E London 2017 from 28th February until 2nd March.

This year, we’ll take our place at stand M30 at London ExCel, along with our demonstration of technical furniture for the broadcast and professional media industry. At our stand, you’ll find a great example of a custom designed production desk, suitable for master control rooms, production and post production rooms, as well as recording and audio studios. Finished in marmoleum, the desk is accessorised to resemble a working studio environment, helping you to visualise your workspace.

In addition, we bring a new concept to the show this year…our height adjustable edit desk. The desk is electrically automated so users can alter the height of the worktop at a touch of a button, great for sit/stand working as well as meeting DDA regulations for wheelchair users.

Finally, an example of an Evolution Media wall will hold 2 large flat screen monitors displaying our video presentations with case study examples. The media wall is powdercoated in black to fit within a studio environment, but it can be left in the  natural aluminium finish, or powdercoated to any RAL colour of your choosing.

Our sales team will be present at the stand to offer advice on your furniture requirements, as well as giving case study examples of previous projects undertaken. Also launching at the show will be two updated brochures, giving information about our edit desks as well as the whole furniture range.  Get your copies hot off the press from our stand M30.

Production desks bound for prominent school

At our factory last week, 3 custom designed consoles were being manufactured for a prominent film, television and games school. MW Video Systems were awarded the contract to provide furniture for the National Film and Television School, based in Beaconsfield.

The three consoles are required for their  Main Production Gallery. A central Production desk, Audio and Lighting Desk and a Sound Control console  all have fully integrated equipment for ease of access and hardware stability.  With marmoleum worktop finishes to the desks, a vision mixer has been inset into the main production console as well as desktop pods added at the left and right hand corners.

Once installed, the consoles will be used by students of the school, allowing them hands on experience working with professional equipment.

New edit desks at the University of Leeds

MW Video Systems have recently provided 5 edit desks at the University of Leeds for the School of Media and Communication department.

One 2400mm wide desk and three 1800mm wide desks from the MW Video standard product range were provided.  The desks, complete with mains distribution units, are finished with black nosing and volcanic ash marmoleum worktops.

The School of Media and Communication is one of the top departments in the country for the study of communication, media and culture. With investment in new facilities needed, a specially refurbished state-of–the-art building at the heart of the Leeds campus was created. This prompted the school to look for new furniture for their new media suites.  After visiting the MW Video Systems website, contact was made and the standard edit desk range proved to offer an affordable, yet high quality solution.

“We found MW Video to meet our needs perfectly. The quality of the desk solution is first class and I would happily recommend MW Video to anybody wanting cost-effective specialist broadcast furniture”, praised Andrew Thorpe, School General Manager.
